Greetings, my name is Joff Winks. I’m a musician, composer, teacher, professional daydreamer and a passionate advocate of the arts.
I began learning to play the guitar aged 6 and ever since then music and the pursuit of playing the guitar have been steadfast companions. Indeed for me they have shaped and transformed my life and always for the better!
Over the years some of the most memorable musical experiences I’ve had have been during music lessons. I’ve been incredibly fortunate throughout my life to have found inspirational tutors, music educators and fellow musicians to learn from and all have been generous with their time and talent.
Why I teach people to play the guitar.
Music can sometimes feel like a magic trick. We're in awe of its effect but are unsure of the slight of hand that has entranced us. As a teacher I'm motivated by the desire to share my knowledge, to reveal the secrets of playing the guitar and most importantly to help aspiring guitarists achieve their ambitions. Sharing my experience and knowledge of music with others is a lifelong endeavour, one that I'm dedicated to and continue to find time for in amongst the various projects of my personal music career.
